Malaysia : Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak is considered a jewel here in Malaysia. Most Malaysians love this dish so much it can be consumed anytime of the day! It is considered by as the national dish of Malaysia and is loved by all races that lives here. This delicious dish is usually consumed in the morning for breakfast which is the most important meal of the day.

 The classic ingredients that are used comprises of  fragrant rice that is made with a touch of coconut cream and pandan leavessambal which is a sweet and spicy chili paste, fried ikan bilis which are fried anchovies, a full boiled egg, fried peanuts and a few slices of some refreshing cucumber.

As you can see above, a good add on for nasi lemak would be a piece of fried chicken which will definitely intensify your taste buds making you crave for it more!

 When all these ingredients are combined, it creates a sumptuous and nutritious dish to be consumed. Nasi lemak was acknowledged as one of ten healthy international breakfast dishes. Nasi lemak can be found in restaurants, cafes and in small stalls beside the street. Malaysians that are going to work or school would commonly stop by the nasi lemak stall in the morning before going to work or school.

Nasi Lemak is usually packed in banana leafs because it enhances the aroma and taste of it!
